How to activate your Operata account (and what to do if it fails)

Step-by-step guide to activating your Operata account, with fixes for the most common activation errors including expired links and undelivered emails.

Activating your account

When your admin adds you to Operata, you'll receive an activation email with the subject line Hi [your name] — you're invited to join your team on Operata!

  1. Open the email and click Activate my account.

  2. You'll be taken to a page asking you to verify your email address. Click the confirmation link.

  3. Set your password and log in at app.operata.io.

The activation link is valid for 7 days. If you don't activate within that window, the link expires and you'll need a new one.

Common problems and fixes

I didn't receive the activation email

  • Check your spam or junk folder — Operata invitation emails are sometimes filtered by enterprise mail gateways.

  • Search for emails from no-reply@operata.com or with the subject you're invited to join your team on Operata.

  • If your organisation uses Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, ask your IT team to whitelist operata.com as a sending domain.

  • Wait up to 10 minutes — some corporate mail systems delay external emails.

I get an error when clicking the activation link

The most common error is "Your email address could not be verified." This usually means:

  • The link has expired — activation links are valid for 7 days. If it's been longer, contact your Operata admin or message us in the chat widget to request a new invite.

  • The link was modified — some email security tools rewrite URLs. Try copying and pasting the link directly into your browser instead of clicking it.

  • You're logged in to a different account — open the link in an incognito/private window.

I need a new activation link

  • Ask your Operata admin to resend your invite from the Teammates section.

  • Alternatively, use the chat widget on this page and we'll resend it for you.

I activated but can't log in

  • Go to app.operata.io and click Forgot password to reset your credentials.

  • If your organisation uses SSO, use your company login button rather than email and password.

    • You may get an error, just select OK, but you will have access.

I'm getting a blank screen after logging in

This usually means your account was created but you haven't been assigned to an Operata group yet. Contact your admin to confirm your group assignment, or reach out to Operata support.
